Began his career as a graphic designer, gaining experience at several design studios and agencies before moving into client management.
He formed his own design consultancy in 1986 to specialise in the areas of Corporate and Brand Identity and Packaging Design. Richard has managed major design programmes for Renault, Sappi, Parker Pens, WHSmith, Pentel and The Institute of Directors amongst others
  Whilst senior designer at Grapplegroup, London, he worked on several large corporate programmes specifically in the financial sector.
In 1989 he led a design team for Grapplegroup, Johannesburg, to provide a full corporate identity programme for Nedbank. Returning to England a year later he worked for several design groups before teaming up with Richard to form Hiom Macdonald
  Has extensive sales and marketing experience in the paper industry, latterly as marketing director with Sappi. He formed his own business in 1997 to offer specialist marketing support to the paper and related industries. Having managed leading brands across European and International markets, for both Arjo Wiggins and Sappi, his expertise is now being used to assess market opportunities and develop new business for leading companies
